Robintheatm came flying through the passing lane to win Buffalo Raceway's $10,200 Class A-Open Handicap Pace for the ladies on a raw Wednesday night (April 21).
After seeing her four-race win streak abruptly end last week, Robintheatm (Jim Morrill Jr.) was bumped up in class, but that didn't stop her from beginning a new victory run.
Wonderful World (Mike Baumeister) showed the way through the opening three panels with splits of :28.3, :56.1 and 1:27.3 over a sloppy track. But turning for home, she called it a night while the closers started to make their surge to the finish line.
Robintheatm ($5.70), who got the pocket trip, proved to be the quickest of all in 1:58.1, while Yankee Secret (Ray Fisher Jr.) took second, three-quarters of a length back and Ellieonthemove (Kevin Cummings) finished third.
It was the fifth win in seven outings this year for the nine-year-old mare Robintheatm (Nuclear Breeze-Robin The Bank), whom Gerry Sarama trains for Mike Torcello. The victory moved her seasonal earnings to $18,929 and $172,262 lifetime.
Cummings, Morrill, Billy Davis Jr. and David McNeight II all had two driving wins on the program while Sarama had a training double.
Racing will resume on Saturday night (April 24) with an 11-race card scheduled for 6 p.m. There will be a $4,000 guaranteed pool in the Pick-5 which begins in the second race.
