Lo Hold A Moonbean Lands At Flamboro

Diving through the passing lane, Lo Hold A Moonbean nailed pacesetter War Filly to win the $9,400 Fillies and Mares Preferred 3 Pace at Flamboro Downs on Saturday, April 20.

Driver Paul MacKenzie placed the six-year-old Moon Beam mare sixth as War Filly led Choose My Jet to a :27.2 opening quarter. Slowing the tempo to a :56.4 half, War Filly continued uncontested on the lead into the backstretch.

Howmacfiesty tipped first over from fourth moving to three-quarters with Twenty Three Red following second over and Lo Hold A Moonbean shooting through the the seam opened at the pylons. Choose My Jet pulled pocket past a 1:26.1 third quarter, leaving the passing lane open for Lo Hold A Moonbean through the lane. War Filly continued to lead until the final steps as Lo Hold A Moonbean stuck a neck in front on the wire to win.

Owned and trained by David Daigneault, Lo Hold A Moonbean won her second race from 13 starts this season and her 24th from 114 overall, surpassing $200,000 in earnings. She paid $13.70 to win.
