Eurobank Hanover Brushes And Crushes In Mohawk Feature

Eurobank Hanover made a backstretch move to the top and powered down the lane to his third win in four seasonal starts in the $22,000 conditioned trot feature at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Monday, April 20.

Ultra Myles (Louis-Philippe Roy) charged out of post eight to the early lead and trotted the opening quarter in :27.3 before ceding control to Ungawa (Paul MacDonell). Shortly after that rival cleared, Bob McClure put Eurobank Hanover in motion and sent the gelding to the lead at the half in :56.4. Eurobank Hanover cruised to three-quarters in 1:26.2 while increasing his advantage to two lengths, and the gelding finished in :28.1 to win by 2-1/4 lengths in 1:54.3. Ungawa finished second, followed by Ultra Myles.

Eurobank Hanover equalled his lifetime mark with the victory, his 10th in 21 career appearances. The four-year-old son of Greenshoe-Emmylou Who, now with earnings of $72,440, is trained by Luc Blais for Determination of Montreal, Que. He paid $2.60 to win.
