Stateside news reports indicate that Boyd Fenton was sentenced to prison time on Friday, April 19 after setting fire to a barn full of horses at Tioga Downs last November.
Fenton was found guilty on charges of third degree arson, second degree assault and 30 counts of interference with or injury to domesticated animals.
After less than an hour in a Tioga County court, Fenton was sentenced to a maximum of 15 years. According to New York state law, the maximum charge that could be applied was 15 years as the charges must be run simultaneously since all three acts took place in that one fire.
According to WETM, Fenton was allowed to make a statement but declined.
