Eliminations for the NA Cup are scheduled for Saturday, June 9 at Mohawk Racetrack, while the rich final is scheduled to be raced Saturday, June 16 at the Campbellville, Ont. oval.
Headlining this year's group is Sweet Lou, who captured the 2011 Breeders Crown and in the process recorded the fastest mile in history (1:49) for a freshman pacer.
The son of Yankee Cruiser--Sweet Future finished off his rookie campaign with a 10-2-0 record from 12 appearances and $688,117 in earnings.
A Rocknroll Dance, the richest freshman pacing colt last season with $858,961 in earnings, is also on the list and is one of the early favourites for the race. He sported a record of 7-3-0 from 11 starts last season.
The connections of 77 three-year-old colts and geldings made their charges eligible to the stakes event by making the February 15 nomination payment. The connections of 64 of glamour boys kept their charges eligible to the race by making the March 15 sustaining payment. Future sustaining payment to keep the colts and geldings eligible are due on April 16 and May 15.
