Driver Brandon Campbell doubled his win count at Fraser Downs this weekend with another five-win performance on Sunday afternoon's harness racing card.
After sweeping the Penny Bath Memorial eliminations amidst a five-bagger on Friday night, Campbell continued his winning momentum on Sunday.
The 31-year-old reinsman set the tone for the afternoon's 12-race card when he won the opener with a horse from his own stable, the maiden-breaking Windsong Loyal ($5.20). His next victory in the fifth race was also with one of his own trainees, repeat winner Spearmint Rhino ($3.80). Campbell came right back to win the following race as Cantbeatacheetah ($6.20) turned in an impressive 1:51.2 career-best effort for trainer Mike Short and owner/breeder Shelley Eng.
Campbell also went back-to-back in the eighth and ninth races with Robert Merschback's Just Ryan ($9.10) and Diana Davie's Delite Debettor ($7.20).
With 70 wins so far in 2015, the travelling Calgary, Alberta horseman is currently the leading driver at Fraser Downs -- 23 more wins than runner-up Bill Davis -- and he has also cracked the top ten Canadian-wide driver standings.
