Two days removed from suffering his first ever defeat, it appears as though St Elmo Hero had a valid excuse for being a bit off his game during last Saturday’s assignment at Woodbine Racetrack.

“It was brought to our attention by driver Jody Jamieson on Monday that St Elmo Hero lost a shoe (left front) after the start of his race on Saturday,” ORC Judge Rick Rier told Trot Insider. “We were able to confirm this, and we made the correction by adding a broken equipment (BE) notation to his chartline.”

Horsemen are reminded to report such instances to the Starter, Paddock Judge or Equipment Inspector when they occur.
