Trainer Gerard Demers and driver Guy Gagnon teamed up for three wins on the Sunday evening program at Rideau Carleton Raceway, and their productive night at the office included a victory in the feature race with Best Show In Town.

The 15-race program saw Gagnon and Demers join forces to take the opener with Paperscissors Rock in gate-to-wire fashion. The son of Muscles Yankee, who was sent off as the even-money favourite stopped the clock in 2:00.

They returned to victory lane in the fourth race following Lady Gambler’s off-the-pace score. The five-year-old daughter of CR Royal Flush, who was sent off at odds of 14-1, stopped the clock in 1:58.4.

Their biggest win on the card occurred in the eighth race – the $12,100 Preferred Pace – with Best Show In Town. The seven-year-old son of Grinfromeartoear front-stepped his way through fractions of :27.1, :57.1 and 1:26 before kicking home in :28.2 for the 1:54.2 decision. Match Bayama was second and Red Leaf Again finished third.

The roan gelding, who races for 9174 7998 Quebec Inc. of Blainville, QC, has put together a 4-3-1 record in his first nine starts of the season while banking $35,647 in the process. He has stashed away more than $306,000 to date.
