Armed Dangerously was locked and loaded in Friday’s $10,500 Open Trot at Buffalo Raceway, but he scored a convincing, one-length victory in 1:59.3.
Using a first-over trip, Armed Dangerously (Ray Fisher Jr.) effortlessly trotted to the lead at the three-quarter pole and played 'catch me if you can' from there. The five-year-old horse opened up a comfortable two-length edge at the top of the stretch and was never in jeopardy of losing it from there. Stormont O My (Drew Monti) rallied for the place position while Fiorentina (Kevin Cummings) finished third.
Owned by Michael Torcello and trained by Gerry Sarama, Armed Dangerously has now won four times in nine appearances in 2014, earning $20,038 this season and $166,545 lifetime. The son of Cash Hall-Drive You Wild paid $5.60.
It was the second straight racing night the Torcello/Sarama combination has won the feature race at Buffalo Raceway as Delightful Syd took the $10,500 Fillies and Mares Open Pace on Wednesday evening.
