Race favourite Power Everywhere proved to be a cut above the rest in Thursday’s $9,000 Fillies & Mares Open Pace at Northfield Park.

Sent off as the 3-2 choice, Power Everywhere tripped out in the two-hole while It Must Be Magic rolled the field through fractions of :28, :57 and 1:26. Power Everywhere found clearance in the lane and used a :28.4 closing quarter to prevail by a length. It Must Be Magic held on for second, while Blows Me Away was third.

Robin Miller mapped out the winning trip for the Calvin Hollar-trained homebred, who is owned by Edwin Harwood of Monroe, Michigan. It was the mare’s sixth win of the season and the 20th of her career. Her share of the loot in Thursday’s feature bumped her career bankroll to $63,967.
