Yonkers Raceway played host to a perfect pairing Monday night, as the tandem of driver George Brennan and trainer Gilberto Garcia-Herrera combined to win with all five of the latter's starters.
Uilleann ($15.40), a professional maiden after 23 career starts, finally found her way off the schneid with a 1:54.4 victory in the first race. The three-year-old daughter of Mcardle is owned by JMF Racing LLC.
That driver-trainer duo completed a $36.20 Daily Double when favoured Nowerland Firebird ($4.60) beat the boys, wiring the second race trotters in 1:58.1. The lass is co-owned by Garcia-Herrera and Michi Abday.
Benns Sure Thing ($3.00) was a popular, going-the-distance winner in the sixth race. The trotter halted the teletimer in 1:59.3 for the same co-ownership combo as Nowerland Firebird.
Brennan and Garcia-Herrera prevailed with pocket-sitting Glass Prince ($5.20) in the seventh race in a season's-best clocking of 1:53.4. Like Uilleann, Glass Prince is owned by JMF Racing LLC. He is now 3-for-7 this season.
We The People ($20.00) overcame a long mile from the eight-hole, picking off 4-5 choice Oil Magnet and winning the tenth race by a neck in 1:53.3. It was an ownership triple for JMF Racing and the second consecutive victory for We The People.
