Burke, Gingras Hot On Sunday

Winning races in bunches is nothing new to trainer Ron Burke or driver Yannick Gingras, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the pair put on a dominant display on Sunday (April 15).

The Burke/Gingras tandem clicked for five wins during Harrah’s Philadelphia’s 14-dash Sunday card.

The duo kicked things off with a wire-to-wire win in Race 4 with the odds-on Starzheaven ($3.80). The Post 7 starter turned the dash into a laugher when he sped away from his rivals in the final quarter en route to a 1:52 victory.

The pair really turned things up during the back half of the program.

The battery clicked for its second Sunday victory in Race 7, as the 3-1 third choice Class Six ($8.40) put in a front-end trip from Post 4 and got the job done in 1:53.

Gingras and Burke were smiling once again after Race 10, as the even-money Post 7 starter Cowboy Terrier ($4.80) excelled off an early first-over move and went on to win by two lengths in 1:53.

Not wasting any time, Burke and Gingras were back at it in Race 11, as Delaine Hall ($2.60), who was sent off at 30 cents on the dollar, went wire to wire from Post 5 and recorded a one-length victory in 2:01.4.

The duo’s final win on the card came in Race 13, as Clouseau Hanover ($8.80) came first-up in the third quarter and went on to grind to a nose win in 1:53.4.
