The combination of honouring great horses of the past and getting local business involved clearly works wonders for the Standardbreds Forever Day at Northlands Park

The 2010 edition of Northlands Park's Standardbreds Forever took place on Easter weekend and, at the time, boasted the highest handle at Northlands since November 15, 2008 - the first Standardbreds Forever Day, honouring As Promised.
"I’m pretty proud of that," co-organizer Orianna Scheck told Trot Insider. "I always believed in this day and now it has become so special for me and for Alberta harness racing."
Scheck already has sponsors asking to part in the next event, and would like to see other tracks adopt this template for their own special feature cards.
"It’s very unique and the day sells itself. And what better name than “Standardbreds Forever” to try and help save our industry!"
