Woodbine Entertainment Group’s $75 million expansion plan for Mohawk Racetrack will face delays thanks to the current economic recession, which has
driven away investors.
According to an article on miltoncanadianchampion.com, Jane Holmes, VP of corporate affairs, said that the company still plans to go forward with its development, which includes a hotel, convention centre and championship golf course, but it will likely have to be carried out in stages, starting first with the golf course.
“The marketplace for hotels has dried up at this point in time,” Holmes said at Halton Region’s recent Tourism Summit.
