The second leg of the Pacin N Racin Series was contested on Saturday night at Kawartha Downs with favourites Artache Hanover and Ez Otto scoring in their respective $8,000 divisions

Driven by Bob McClure, Artache Hanover ($2.10) survived a first over journey to win the Saturday opener in 1:54.4. The pocket-sitting Top Of The Mark finished one length behind in second and pacesetter Twickenham, a first leg winner, settled for third. The Western Ideal-Artaffection sophomore colt is trained by Chad Milner for owner James Carr of Hamilton, Ont. Artache Hanover, a runner-up last week to Rumbart, is now two-for-three on the year.
After settling in the pocket and being shuffled to third, Ez Otto ($3.80) and Jonathan Drury swept to command at the three-quarters mark ahead of Checkinthebox and cruised home to win in 1:55.2 by one and a half lengths. Early leader Rumbart finished third. Andrew McCabe trains the Rustler Hanover-Rafanelli four-year-old, who finished third to Rumbart in the opening round. He is now five-for-12 on the year.
The series is for colts and geldings that are non-winners of $30,000 lifetime as of March 23, 2012.
