Eldorado Scioto Downs has a new nomination structure for the Next Generation events that will be held on Saturday, July 6. The Next Generation is for Ohio-sired two-year-olds with all four divisions represented.
Horsepeople can purchase a spot in the division of their choosing by April 15 for $8,000 USD. Or, if you need a little more time to decide before making the payment, a $10,000 USD nomination can be made by May 15. The last possible date to nominate is June 15 for $12,000 USD. Each division is limited to nine entrants with eight spots needing purchased in order for the event to fill.
If less than 10 spots are purchased within any of the individual deadlines, all purchasers from that nomination period are guaranteed a spot and not subject to a lottery drawing. Within any deadline period, if the total number of spots purchased exceeds nine, then only those spots purchased within that time period are subject to the lottery drawing. Once nine spots have been purchased by any of the given deadlines, the event will be closed.

The 90-day 2024 Eldorado Scioto Downs race meet will open on Thursday, May 9 and conclude on Saturday, Sept. 14. Races will be held Tuesday-Saturday with a special holiday cards on Memorial Day and Labour Day taking place instead of the Tuesday card that week. First post will be 5:45 p.m. each day except for Friday, Sept. 13, which will have a 6:15 p.m. post to help accommodate horsepeople attending the Ohio Selected Yearling Sale.
