Scott Di Domenico trainees Triumphants Chip and Pridecrest were among a quartet of repeat winners in the Yonkers Raceway/SOA of NY Bonus Trotting Series, which continued on Tuesday night (April 11) with six $25,000 second-leg divisions.
Triumphants Chip (Dan Dube, $7.90) won the first and fastest division of the night in a career-best clocking of 1:55.3, holding off the favoured Majestic Mistress by half a length. The four-year-old Triumphant Caviar gelding is owned by Adam Friedland and Brian Carsey.
Triumphants Chip's stablemate, Pridecrest (David Miller, $4.40), also took a new lifetime mark with a wire-to-wire series win in 1:56.2. The five-year-old Angus Hall gelding is owned by Triple D Stables Inc. and CC Racing LLC.
The Jenny Melander stable doubled up in leg two as well with Majestic Son gelding Golden Son ($2.40) repeating in 1:56.3 and Explosive Matter distaffer Ameliosi ($4.90) hanging on to score in 1:57.2. Jason Bartlett drove both winners for owners John Devito and Rocco Manniello.
Tight Lines ($2.10) was the fastest winner over an off track in the opening leg and was even faster tonight winning in 1:56 flat for trainer/driver Jeff Gregory, who co-owns the Yankee Glide four-year-old with Jesmeral Stable and William Richardson.
Trainer George 'Buzzy' Sholty has sent out of a winner in each leg of the series, with trotting mare Hillosophical (Tyler Buter, $3.60) his latest star, prevailing in 1:57.1 for owners Joseph Lee, Diamond Pride LLC, Irwin Goldfarb and Sholty Racing LLC. Sholty's leg one victor, Windsong Magic, finished fourth this time out in Tight Lines' division.
Bartlett (4), Miller (3) and Buter (3) each enjoyed multiple victories on the night with the latter reinsman steering a pair of Canadian-owned winners -- The Rev and Three Of Clubs -- for trainer Gregg McNair.
