Ray Hall played a game of ‘catch me if you can’ against six foes in Saturday’s $7,500 Preferred 3 for trotters, and he won.
Alfie Carroll put Ray Hall on the early lead and the five-year-old son of Justice Hall-Comebyrail whacked out fractions of :28.2, :59 and 1:29 before finishing off the competition with a closing quarter of :29.1. He scored in 1:58.1 over Mopey Corey and Massive Muscles.
Richard Moreau trains the gelding, who was sent off as the even-money favourite, for Bruce Soulsby of Powell, Ohio. The gelding won for the second time this season – and the 17th time in his career – while lifting his lifetime cash stash to $146,554.
