Cool Guy went to the front in Thursday’s feature race at Woodbine Racetrack, and once he got there it was game over for everyone else.

The six-year-old son of Oaklea Julian-Dont Be Misled carved out panels of :26.4, :56 and 1:24.4 for driver Billy Davis Jr. before using a :29.2 closing quarter to win by a nose over Slip Into Glide. Race favourite Bax Of Life tagged along to finish a bang-up third in the eight-horse affair.

Trainer Tim Cherwaiko of Cambridge, Ontario co-owns Cool Guy with Trevor Cherwaiko of Georgetown, Ontario. Together, they’ve watched the talented trotter assemble a 3-0-2 record from 10 trips to the track this season. The 10-time winner has banked $214,610 to date.

Multiple fans were able to come up with the top five finishers in Thursday’s Jackpot Hi 5 wager offered in Race 10, with each $1-based wager returning $2,033.25. As a result, Friday’s Jackpot Hi 5 will feature a carryover of $177,271.02.
