Two weeks ago trainer Ed Hensley swept the top two position in the $12,500 Fillies & Mares Open Pace at Fraser Downs, and earlier today Hensley experienced déjà vu
.
Modern Legacy got the better of Lickcreek Jazzy in the feature race on Sunday, March 28, and they finished that way in today’s tilt, as well.
Modern Legacy drew away to a one-length score over Lickcreek Jazzy in the $12,500 affair, and once again she was forced to do it from first over. Hensley rallied the five-year-old daughter of Jate Lobell to the 1:53.4 score over her entrymate/stablemate Lickcreek Jazzy while Jans Rich Girl rounded out the top three.
The victory improved Modern Legacy’s 2010 record to 5-3-1 in 12 starts. She has cracked the top two in each of her last five assignments for her owners – the J J J Stables of Aldergrove, BC and Ed Hensley of Blaine, WA. The pacer has banked $176,677 to date.
By the end of the day Hensley had watched three of his starters find their way to victory lane. In addition to Modern Legacy, he also guided Fast Change Art (1:54.1) and Duel N Die (1:55.3) to winning efforts.
