At the Atlantic Harness Racing Symposium Banquet in Truro, Nova Scotia, some of the best of the Atlantic provinces were honoured
this evening (April 10).
Ted Smith, who will be retiring as President and CEO from Standardbred Canada on May 28, was the keynote speaker.
In addition, the prestigious Kennedy Award was presented to Jack Ferguson and the Frank Daniels Award was presented to Ken Arsenault.
"I'm not sure I can talk around this lump in my throat," said Ferguson upon receiving his award. "This honour puts me into very exceptional company.
"My introduction sounded like a bit of an obituary," he joked. "But I jogged my two-year-old this morning. I'm not gone yet!"
