Melvin G won the $72,643 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund Late Closer final for three-year-old colt and gelding trotters at Bally's Dover on Tuesday (April 1) night for his 11th consecutive pari-mutuel victory.

Legend Of Rock, who lost to Melvin G by a nose last week, saved energy in the pocket while Brass Survivor raced first-over but was unable to cut into the lead of Melvin G.

Turning for home, Legend Of Rock weakened in the pocket and Bucky Highway saved ground along the pylons but that bid stalled. Melvin G romped to a five length victory trotting the mile in 1:57.1. He paid $2.40 for the win.  Brass Survivor finished second and Bucky Highway was third.
