Do Me Honor stalked Tremor Hanover for most of the mile, then blew by her in the Lightning Lane to capture Monday’s $18,000 Filly & Mare Not Listed Preferred/Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.
While Tremor Hanover was dealing with the first-over bid of So Easy Baby, Do Me Honor and Aaron Merriman waited patiently in the pocket behind the dueling leaders. Do Me Honor charged home in :28.3 to score in 1:52.4, a nose better than the game Tremor Hanover. So Easy Baby persevered for show.
The five-year-old daughter of Cheyenne Rei-Do Me Right won for the sixth time this year for owner/trainer Bill Bercury and sent her career bankroll soaring over $300,000.
Dave Palone and Mike Wilder each drove three winners on the 15-race card.
