Cole Hard Cash rallied from off-the-pace to capture the featured $10,000 Open Pace at Buffalo Raceway Saturday night

Cole Hard Cash ($13), leaving from Post 3 in the field of eight and driven by reinsman Dave McNeight III, settled in fifth as eventual third place finisher Golden Terror (Mark Beckwith) cut all the fractions in the race, :28, :56.1, and 1:26.1. Cole Hard Cash, made a three-wide move down the backstretch, and as the field hit the top of the stretch, he took command of the race and beat second place finisher Spender Hanover (Jack Flanigen) by three and three-quarter lengths at the wire in a season’s best 1:55.4.
The win was the third this season for Cole Hard Cash, who has been in the money in seven out of 11 races. The $5,000 share of the winning purse put Cold Hard Cash’s season bankroll at $16,472 and lifetime earnings at $154,762.
The six-year-old Cole Muffler gelding out of the Life Sign mare Sacred is trained by Dave McNeight Jr. and owned by Limerick Racing of Hamburg, New York.
