Local Biz Night Returns To Grand River

Back by popular demand, the second annual Local Biz Night at Grand River Raceway is slated for April 25 — opening night of the 2011 live harness racing season

Last year’s sold-out event saw more than 160 people from 34 local businesses paired with a horse racing in the Local Biz Night Race.

Six-year-old trotter Thrifty Crown was the big winner for 2nd Chance Employment, A Weed Bit Natural: eco store, At Home Bookkeeping Solutions and Stonehurst B&B.

This year’s offering is $20 per person and includes the following: cocktail reception, buffet dinner in the Captain’s Quarters dining room overlooking the racetrack, meal taxes and gratuity. Attendees 19 and older also receive an optional $10 gaming package and a race program.

All participants will receive a guided tour of the paddock and meet their horse in the Local Biz Night Race prior to post time for the dash. The winning businesses receive a trophy to display in their workplace and an equal share of a staff party for 20 at Grand River Raceway.

Local Biz Night is a joint-effort between the raceway, the OLG Slots at Grand River Raceway and the Centre Wellington Chamber Of Commerce.
