Back on track for its 10th season in 2025, Harrah’s Hoosier Park Racing & Casino is proud to announce the return of First Turn Stable, a fractional ownership opportunity, for the 2025 live harness racing season.
The first of its kind in the state of Indiana, First Turn Stable was designed to provide fans an easy and affordable way to experience the excitement of horse ownership and educate for future ownership endeavors. Harrah’s Hoosier Park will begin taking new membership sign-ups throughout the early portion of the 2025 season which is slated to kick off on Friday, March 14.
First Turn Stable gives racing fans a chance to learn about horse ownership first-hand. The fractional ownership program, established in 2016, gives harness racing fans hands-on ownership experience for a one-time $250 USD buy-in.
Back at the helm for a second-straight year as trainer, Patrizio Ancora will guide First Turn Stable coming off a career year in 2024. Managing a small stable that packs a big punch, Ancora batted at .286 UDRS, winning 25 times in 2024 with a stable headlined by Indiana Sire Stakes performers Galleys Image and Bitofbitterbutter. Ancora nearly tripled his career best in earnings in 2024, racking up just shy of $375,000 in 162 starts.
The program provides weekly e-mail updates and monthly financials that will be shared with members to provide a transparent and behind-the-scenes look into the real cost of owning a racehorse. Members can also enjoy scheduled group visits to the Patrizio Ancora stable located on property at Harrah’s Hoosier Park to visit, receive updates and meet the stable’s horses.
Beyond that, Harrah’s Hoosier Park will partner with the Indiana Standardbred Association to provide tours of local training centers, along with a complimentary ownership seminar for First Turn Members who are eager to take the plunge into full-fledged standardbred ownership.
At the end of the racing season, the stable’s winnings and costs will be calculated and any profit will be split amongst the group’s owners. If the season results in a financial loss, Harrah’s Hoosier Park will offset the figure to bring the season to a breakeven for the participants. Guests must be Indiana residents and at least 18 years of age to participate in First Turn Stable.
