Dontforgetlittlman pulled a mild upset in the $28,000 Open Trot at Miami Valley on Wednesday (March 8).
Driver Dan Noble left with speed when the wings folded and fronted the field from start to finish, posting fractions of :27.3, :57 and 1:25.1 before tripping the final beam in 1:53.2 — a lifetime best for the five-year-old son of Dontyouforgetit.
Dontforgetlittlman entered the feature fray off four consecutive runner-up finishes. He surpassed the $300,000 earnings plateau with the victory, the 19th of his career out of 66 tries.
The Christi Noble trainee, owned by Brian Witt, paid $12 to his faithful. Combined with runner-up The Mighty Hill, the exacta kicked back $56.20. Sly Little Fox completed the trifecta.
In a $25,000 Open II Trot, Flemsteen held off Fawn De Touch by a head in 1:54.2. Millionaire Dayson, now age 10, earned third money. Co-owner Chris Beaver conditions the winning five-year-old by Explosive Matter for his partners RBH Ventures and Bill Manes. Trevor Smith piloted the winner.
Racing resumes on Thursday (March 9) at 4 p.m. (EST) with a 14-race card.
