Use Your Noodle survived a tight three-horse photo to win the Fillies and Mares Winners Over Pace Tuesday night (March 7) at Rosecroft Raceway.
Frank Milby moved the four-year-old Artzina offspring to the lead just past the opening quarter of :27.4. Russell Foster moved Quotable Quotes into first-over racing position just past the three-eighths pole and held her together as she got rough going down the backside while challenging the leader the entire back half.
Breadcrumb Income (driven by Brian Burton), the 2-1 favourite, sat the pocket and swung three-wide in the final turn and the three were separated by inches at the wire. Quotable Quotes hung on for second, producing a $40.20 exacta.
Use Your Noodle, trained by Les Givens, stopped the timer in 1:54 on the ‘sloppy’ oval.
Foster posted five wins on the card and Milby had two.
