The clocks were moved up an hour Sunday morning, but that minor inconvenience didn’t throw off Tyler Buter’s timing.
Buter won four races during Yonkers Raceway’s French-centric Sunday matinee (insert whatever version of “Buter-ful” you wish).
Buter handily swept both halves of the $10 early Daily Double, with Art Of Illusion ($3.40) in the $19,000 pacing opener (1:54) and the mare Backstreet Hanover ($7.40) in the $33,000 Preferred Trot. The lass won by eight lengths, while negotiating the mile-and-one-quarter in 2:27.1.
His third victory of the day was with Tweet Me ($8.80) in the $22,000, fourth race trot (added-distance 2:28.1) before One More Kid ($18.80) was a pocket winner in the $18,000, sixth race trot (added-distance 2:28.1).
The quartet gave Buter 35 local wins this season, good for sixth in the Westchester standings.
Sunday’s seven France-hubbed exported races attracted just one million Euros in wagering (just under 1.1 million U.S. dollars).
The Raceway’s live season continues Monday (7:10 p.m.) and a “French” Tuesday (1 p.m.), then Thursday through Saturday (all at 7:10 p.m.). A friendly reminder there’s also live racing next Sunday, March 15 (post time 1:10 p.m.). Evening simulcasting accompanies all night programs, with afternoon simulcasting available daily (all provided Mother Nature cooperates).
