Mcgibson Impressive At The Meadows

Mcgibson powered to a front-end score in 1:52.1, fastest mile this year by a four-year-old pacing mare on a five-eighths mile track, in Monday’s $25,000 Filly & Mare Preferred

Pace at The Meadows.

As she did in her victory last week, Mcgibson vaulted to the lead for Dave Palone, cutting a wicked :26.3 first quarter. That blazing panel did little to tire her, though, as the daughter of Mcardle-Armbro Althea fought off the stern first-over challenge of Tracys Song and closed in :28.2 to defeat that rival by a length. Spring Break was a ground-saving third.

Kevin McDermott trains Mcgibson, who now boasts career earnings of $217,608, for Fran Azur. Palone, Tony Hall and Brett Miller each drove three winners on the 15-race card.
