ORC Announces New Initiatives For Multi-Breed And Multi-Year Licences

Published: March 7, 2013 03:58 pm EST

As part of current efforts to modernize its operations and streamline licencing processes, the Ontario Racing Commission has launched two separate licencing pilot programs.

Creating a multi-breed licence for specific categories will ease the licencing burden on individuals who operate across all breeds. Similarly re-introducing the concept of multi-year licences will serve as a timesaving measure for participants.

The ORC recognizes that horse racing in Ontario is in a state of transition. The organization is working hard to develop new and improved processes, intended to increase ORC’s efficiencies and make improvements for participants.

It should be noted that the pilot programs will be limited to specific categories for 2013 – full roll out to other categories in future years will occur based on the outcomes and feedback of the current year initiatives. Members of the racing community are encouraged to provide feedback on these initiatives.
