The second leg of the Princess Of The Pacific was contested at Fraser Downs on Saturday afternoon, and for Im Bossy it was a case of déjà vu.
For the second week-in-a-row the four-year-old daughter of Power Of Art found her way to victory lane for Bill Davis, who had a training and driving triple on the 12-race program.
Im Bossy used off-the-pace tactics to win this afternoon’s assignment in a time of 1:54.4. She fended off runner-up Judges Acenthehole by three-quarters of a length. Midnight Diva was a fast-closing third.
J J J Stables of Aldergrove, BC and Alan Anderson of Willows, CA share ownership on the mare, who extended her win streak to six-in-a-row. The career winner of $82,739 is now 3-for-3 this season.
It was a gate-to-wire score for Greek Beach in the other $25,000 tilt. The four-year-old Astreos miss threw down fractions of :29, :57.4 and 1:26.1 for trainer/driver Scott Knight en route to the 1:55.2 victory. Sent off at odds of 11-1, she defeated Lil Kim and the odds-on favourite, Hot Night.
Robert Collier of Victoria, BC holds the papers on the six-time winner, who has put together a 2-0-1 record in her first four starts of the 2009 campaign. She has banked just over $100,000 to date.
The $100,000 Princess of the Pacific final will be contested as part of next Saturday afternoon’s card of racing at Fraser Downs.
