With a three-wide swoop entering the final turn, Dali Cat kicked around pacesetter Oseemylucky Bo and first-over challenger Across Hanover and opened a three-length margin heading to a 2:01.1 victory in the $8,400 featured pace at The Raceway at Western Fair District on Tuesday, March 5.
Driver Scott Coulter placed Dali Cat fifth as Oseemylucky Bo took command from post six and led the field to a :28.4 opening quarter. Across Hanover, positioned sixth, tipped off the rail moving towards a 1:00.1 half and drew closer to the leader on the second circuit.
Oseemylucky Bo maintained a length-and-a-half lead passing three-quarters in 1:30.3 while Coulter fanned off the rail and to the center of the course with Dali Cat. The four-year-old Dali mare circled to the lead entering the stretch and widened her margin while Release The Baby closed for second and Oseemylucky Bo held third.
Owned by Darryl and Diane Currie, Dali Cat won her ninth race from 40 starts, earning $42,464. Doug Currie conditions the $14.10 winner.
