
Favaro Seelster continued his dominant 2025 campaign, securing his fifth consecutive victory on Monday, March 31 at The Raceway at Western Fair District.
At the start of the evening's $7,000 fourth race for claiming pacers, Odds On Carmel (Sam Fillion) briefly held the lead before Our Max Phactor N (Austin Sorrie) surged past to set the early pace, taking the field through an opening quarter in :28.3. The 7-5 favourite Favaro Seelster and driver Travis Henry settled into fourth behind Big Bully (J Harris).
As the race unfolded, Big Bully made a first-over move, with Favaro Seelster perfectly positioned second-over, following cover through the half in :58.4 and three-quarters in 1:28.4. Around the final turn, Favaro Seelster fanned three-wide and unleashed a powerful late surge, overtaking the leaders with ease. He cruised to victory in 1:58.3, winning by 2-1/4 lengths. Big Bully finished second, while Our Max Phactor N held on for third.
Favaro Seelster, a seven-year-old Control The Moment-Flower Bomb gelding, was trained by Gerard Demers and owned by La Ferme Tag Inc. of Papineauville, Que. for his last three starts. He was claimed after the race for $9,500 by Leanne Davidson of Petrolia, Ont., James Grant of Sarnia, Ont., and Adrian Sharma of Kleinburg, Ont.
Western Fair’s 2024 Claiming Pacer of the Year, Favaro Seelster, has already secured six wins from nine starts in 2025. The veteran pacer now boasts 30 lifetime victories, $20,490 in seasonal earnings, and $148,791 in career earnings.
