Through dense fog, Acefortyfour Rebel capitalized on a perfect pocket trip to capture the $9,500 featured pace at Flamboro Downs on Sunday, March 30.

Chasin Rainbows (J Harris) led the field off the gate, setting an opening quarter in :29.3, while Acefortyfour Rebel and driver Sam Fillion settled into the pocket. Maple Shadow (Scott Young) then took over before the half in 1:01, maintaining control through three-quarters in 1:29.4. As the field turned for home and the finish-line lights pierced through the fog, Acefortyfour Rebel surged up the passing lane to claim victory in 2:00.2 by 1-1/4 lengths over a ‘good’ track. Maple Shadow held on for second, while 4-5 betting favourite Ariels Bet (Travis Cullen) rounded out the top three.

A four-year-old Dali mare out of Artacam Hanover, Acefortyfour Rebel is trained by Craig Gilmour for owner Dayna White of Troy, Ont. The victory marked her fourth career win and second of the season, boosting her 2025 earnings to $16,330 and career earnings to $45,750. At 6-1 odds, she returned $14.60 to win.
