After being part of a Temple University squad which won both the Atlantic Ten women's lacrosse regular-season and tournament championships, 23-year-old Whitney Richards is now finding success in the standardbred racing industry.

An article by The Philadelphia Inquirer explains that Richards recorded her first-ever training victory on February 10, 2009 when Arts Coco recorded a neck victory at Yonkers Raceway.

"I'm excited. I love racing," Richards was quoted as saying in the article. "It's like any other sport; it's competitive. It's different every time. It's exciting. You go to the track and see if what you did is working."
