Heavily-favoured Late Caterina was treated to a dreamy, two-hole trip in Thursday’s $8,500 Preferred 3 for trotters at Flamboro Downs, and she didn’t let it go to waste.
In rein to Marc St. Louis, Jr., Lady Caterina pocketed up behind a charged up Summit City Nate who sped through fractions of :28.2, :57.4 and 1:26.2 before being collared. It was Lady Caterina angling off the rail at the head of the lane and blowing by the leader en route to posting the win in 1:57.3. Summit City Nate held on for the runner-up spot while Fork grabbed the show dough
Alan Fair trains the seven-year-old daughter of Holiday Road-The Lady Money for Elisabeth Fair of Ancaster, Ont. It was the second straight score for the 18-time winner who bumped her lifetime earnings over $200,000 with the win.
