The duo of driver Todd Trites and trainer Dr. Trevin Shive were unstoppable at Truro Raceway on Sunday afternoon, as noted in the three-for-three record they assembled over the course of the 12-race program

.

The win parade for Trites and Shive started in Race 4 thanks to P H Supercam’s front-stepping score. The three-year-old son of Million Dollar Cam drew off to win by close to eight lengths in 2:02 for owner Dr. James Shive of Shubenacadie, NS.

Penn Hills Farm Ltd’s Bubbles Sister gave the trainer/driver duo its next trip to victory lane following the mare’s coast-to-coast triumph in Race 8. The daughter of Ft Apache Hanover, who was sent off as the 1-9 favourite, tripped the teletimer in 1:58.4.

In contrast to the way her stablemates raced, My Fine Lady used her off-the-pace weapons to secure a 1:59.3 tally in Race 11 for Trites and Shive. The eight-year-old Dream Away miss drew off to win by two lengths despite having to do the first-over work in the $1,350 assignment. She gave owner Dr. James Shive his second victory on the matinee program.

Trites, who has notched more than 100 wins in each of the last five seasons, has picked up 20 wins so far this year. He’s a career winner of 1,562 races and more than $2.4 million in purse earnings.

Shive is off to a fantastic start to his 2010 campaign. He has already put together a 7-1-1 record from the first 19 starters he’s sent postward. The career winner of 297 races has hauled in more than $665,000 in purse earnings to date.
