Tim Tetrick maneuvered Canadian-owned Workslikeacharm through traffic to score a 1:57.3 lifetime mark in the $69,189 final of the Delaware Standardbred Breeders’ Fund (DSBF) late closer for three-year-old male trotters at Bally’s Dover on Tuesday night (March 26).

LGs Jaxon, sent off as the 4-5 favourite, left with authority and set fractions of :27.3, :58 and 1:27. LGs Bluestone offered mild first-over pressure up the backstretch, with Jetsam following second-over and a patient Workslikeacharm sitting third-over. At the top of the stretch, Workslikeacharm began to weave through heavy traffic and the son of E L Platinum surged past LGs Jaxon late to win by a neck. LGs Bluestone closed late for second and LGs Jaxon was third.

In other action, Manatlas saved ground throughout the mile and became and upset winner in the $35,135 Open Handicap Trot.

Repeat victor Last Glow was parked to the opening quarter in :27.3 and Speed Away made a break in front of the stands. Last Glow cleared and led through the :57 half while Muscle Dynasty continued on a steady grind on the outside. Manatlas followed all the action from the pocket trip as Last Glow clicked out the three-quarters in 1:25.1. Manatlas snaked through along the pylons, surging late and winning by a neck in 1:55. The Fast Lane closed to finish second and Crystal Fashion finished third.

Jumping up in class off back-to-back wins, Manatlas returned $51 for a $2 win ticket. The eight-year-old E L Titan gelding is owned by Legacy Racing Of Delaware, Reginald Hazzard, and Gary Calloway. Montrell Teague drove the Wayne Givens trainee.

On Wednesday, Southwind Icenfire takes on Jody and Misty Coast in the Mares Open Handicap Pace. There is a Pick-4 carryover worth $2,759 on Wednesday. The season concludes on Thursday.
