Premier Delight made her premier start in the featured $11,600 Fillies and Mares Preferred Pace a delight as she upset the field from 19-1 odds, the longest shot on the board in the field of seven. Jeff Hunt steered his student to the victory on the Tuesday, March 26 card at The Raceway at the Western Fair District.
Major League N (Ed Hensley) designated herself as the pacesetter for the feature mile and clicked out panels in :28.1, :57.4 and 1:26.1. Favoured So Frisky (Colin Kelly) pulled first over en route to the half and Premier Delight followed her lead. A wall of mares crested the final turn, charging towards the wire. With a :30.1 sprint in the final panel, Premier Delight won by one length in 1:57. So Frisky had to settle for second and Major League N completed the triactor.
