Driver Colin Kelly cleared the lead with 2-5 favourite Treasured Tee and downed his competition with ease to take the $11,500 featured trot at Flamboro Downs on Sunday night (March 26).
Leaving from post three, Treasured Tee took the top from Thirdtimesthedream through a :28.1 first quarter and faced little pressure from there. Magnificent Seven mounted a mild first-over bid to a :58.1 half and promptly stalled along the rim while Treasured Tee coasted to three-quarters in 1:27. Treasured Tee then expanded his lead rounding for home to post a four-length victory in 1:56.1 with Thirdtimesthedream holding second. Magnificent Seven finished third, another five lengths behind, with Laa Dee Gaa fourth.
Francis Guillemette trains Treasured Tee and co-owns him with Eric Beausejour and Stephane Geoffroy. The eight-year-old Yankee Glide gelding won his 21st race from 116 starts and has now earned $332,681. He paid $2.50 to win.
