The second round of the Jersey Girls Series went postward over a sloppy track at the Meadowlands on Thursday evening, with a pair of $20,000 divisions on tap
for the three and four-year-old female pacers.
After finishing a fast closing second in last week’s opening leg, Autumn Magic rallied to take tonight’s opening split in 1:52 for the tandem of trainer Kevin McDermott and driver Brian Sears.
“The White Knight” used a :27.4 final quarter to seal the deal with the four-year-old Jennas Beach Boy miss, who defeated Saymynamesaymyname and Apere Hanover. Joseph Zicchino of Point Pleasant, NJ holds the papers on the 11-time winner, who has stashed away $163,472 to date.
Driver David Miller and trainer Ken Rucker clicked in the second division with Dont Deny Me, who extended her win streak to three-in-a-row thanks to her 1:52.2 triumph.
The four-year-old daughter of Allamerican Ingot stormed home in :27.1 to defeat Natalie and Ramona Disomma. The Rucker Stable Inc. of Beecher, IL holds the papers on the nine-time winner, who bumped her lifetime earnings to $154,419 with the win.
The $70,000 (est.) final is scheduled for next Thursday evening at the Meadowlands.
