The first foal of O'Brien Award winner Donna Soprano has arrived.
A six-year-old daughter of Donato Hanover out of Windsong Soprano, Donna Soprano won eight of 19 starts during her racing career while earning $962,155 for owner Determination of Montreal, Que. Trained by Luc Blais, Donna Soprano was named 2020 Two-Year-Old Trotting Filly of the Year after a standout debut season in which she won the Pure Ivory Series, Champlain Stakes and Peaceful Way Stakes, and was runner-up in the Mohawk Million. During her three-year-old campaign, she took her lifetime mark of 1:51.3 in the Del Miller Memorial at The Meadowlands and collected more Grand Circuit stakes trophies winning the Simcoe and Elegantimage.
Donna Soprano's first foal is a filly by Muscle Hill.
"She’s a natural first-time mom and the filly has legs for days!" reported Elizabeth Caldwell of Kentucky's Cane Run Farm in a social media post on Saturday, March 23. "Congratulations to owner, Determination!"
