Pinehurst Training Center in North Carolina has received a little love from a local news publication, as The Fayetteville Observer has run an article which shows the beauty and comfort of the historic establishment.

As the article explains, the training centre will be celebrating its 100 anniversary next year.

The training centre is owned by the village and is part of its Parks and Recreation Department. Trainers come from all over to escape the frigid winter and to get their horses ready for the upcoming racing season.

The report states that horseman Gordon Corey, who runs a public stable, enjoys his time at Pinehurst. He notes that the weather “is a key factor" and that facility is a "pleasant place to be."

The training centre’s 65th annual matinee races are scheduled for April 6. Gates open at 11 a.m. with the opening ceremony at 1 p.m. and the first of eight races at 1:30 p.m. Admission is $5 for anyone over 12.
