Six-thousand-dollar racehorse buys don’t usually make mainstream press. Although, if you ask trainer Merv Chupp, he would say that fact couldn’t be further from the truth.
A recent report by The Daily-Journal has profiled a racehorse that Chupp Racing Stable Inc. purchased for $6,000 at a sale this past January at the Meadowlands.
The racehorse in question, seven-year-old Real Desire gelding Master Of Desire, has won a pair of races since joining Chupp’s stable and has banked $15,000 in the process.
"I'm ecstatic with the horse," Chupp was quoted as saying. "I was hoping Master Of Desire would be a good $10,000 claimer, but so far I'm tickled to death that he's shown me he can turn out to be a whole lot more for us."
