Wheelin N Stealin stole the spotlight in the $8,600 featured trot at The Raceway at Western Fair District on Monday, March 24, delivering a strong wire-to-wire victory.

Sent off as the 4-5 favourite in the conditioned claiming trot, the four-year-old gelding surged to the lead off the gate and never looked back, setting fractions of :31, 1:02.1 and 1:31.4 before stopping the clock in 2:01.2, winning by half of a length. He held off a persistent challenge from Mass Money (Austin Sorrie), who settled for second, while Livingitlarge (Lorne House) battled late to secure third.

It was a one-man show for George Ketros, who drove, trains and co-owns Wheelin N Stealin with Mary Ketros of Arthur, Ont. The son of Wheeling N Dealin-P L Corina has now won three straight races, bringing his career total to five victories from 21 starts. The pacer’s seasonal earnings climb to $23,165, while his lifetime bankroll increases to $43,195.
