On the eve of the 2017 season opener at Scarborough Downs, reports indicate that an agreement has been reached for the sale of the Maine harness racing facility.
According to an article in the Bangor Daily News / Maine Public, Scarborough Downs spokesman Mike Sweeney has confirmed that there is a prospective buyer for the track. The sale has not been finalized, pending due diligence.
The track's 67th season of live harness racing begins on Saturday, March 25 at 1:30 p.m., with Sweeney noting that expectations are for the meet to be completed in its entirety.
