After a slow start to his 2018 season, multiple O’Brien Award-winning reinsman Sylvain Filion connected for a driving triple during Thursday’s 10-race card at Woodbine Racetrack.
Filion, now a winner of 8,600 races and purses close to $106 million, only needed four races to secure the hat trick performance.
He took down the opener with Burlington (1:58.1) before returning to victory lane with Hidden Delight (1:55) in Race 3. He came right back to take the checkered flag with Dreams On Me (1:56.1) in Race 4.
Filion has managed to pot more than $1 million in purse earnings in each of the last 25 seasons. He’s already potted more than $400,000 with just under one quarter of the season in the books.
