Terrormissu Prevails In Penny Bath

Terrormissu completed a sweep of her elimination and the $15,000 final of the Penny Bath Memorial for three-year-old pacing fillies on Friday night at Fraser Downs for trainer/driver Bill Davis and the J J J Stables.

Run And Tell (Kevin Anderson) sprinted to the lead from post seven with Muriel Fornwald champion One Badland Nite (Steve Hudon) firing off the gate to her outside, but she was left parked out through a :27.1 opening quarter as insider Terrormissu quickly filled the pocket. As the field raced in front of the grandstand for the first time, One Badland Nite was able to tuck in behind Terrormissu.

Run And Tell continued to lead the field to the half in :57.4 with One Badland Nite moving back out to pressure the front-runner as they neared the three-quarters mark in 1:27.1.

As the fillies entered the stretch, Run An Tell drew clear again on top, but Terrormissu dove to the passing lane and wore her down in the final strides for the neck victory. Terrormissu shaved one full second off her lifetime mark as she hit the wire in 1:57.2. Longshot Shaleslittlespirit (Jim Marino) closed from mid-pack to edge out One Badland Nite for the third-place honours over two lengths behind.

Terrormissu paid $7.90 to win as part of the 5-2 entry. Her stablemate, Tap Away (Keith Clark), quickly dropped out of contention down the backstretch and pulled up.

The Western Terror-Michelles Fury filly has finished no worse than fourth in 11 starts to bank over $30,000 in purses.

The powerful J J J Stables and Davis won three of the evening's 11 races.
