Colleen McDonald of Hamburg, New York won the World Harness Handicapping Championship (WHHC) qualifier held Friday night in the clubhouse at Batavia Downs Casino.

McDonald turned her nine mythical wagers into a final score of $471 and that was good enough to defeat 123 other players.

Richard Hansen with a score of $462.50 came in second while Joe Cimino finished third with $426.

For her victory, McDonald receives entry into the $100,000 World Harness Handicapping Championship to be held April 13 at the Meadowlands Racetrack, two night’s hotel accommodations and expense money.

The next handicapping contest to be held at the Downs is June 1, a qualifier for the Horse Player World Series.
